Lovely new pin by Oh My Cavalier!, as modeled by my little fox pal... just when you thought he couldn't get cuter! I was thinking of selling him on Etsy, but I just couldn't part with him, especially since I would have nowhere to store my pin! The gracious Julianna made the pin to order, when I just just had to have the Pet Fox drawing on a simpler pin than she had already for sale... What a sweet piece from a sweet artist.

Autumn Happiness
Kathryn's birthday is today & these were her presents:
Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers
(She collects shakers)
-
Acorn Earrings
(I might have to make myself a pair of these, too!)
-
I suppose you can tell I'm in a Autumn-y mood...
-
Here's my Thanksgiving tree:
I actually put it out in September, sans turkey ornaments, but the Halloween tree goes up in between...)
-
The Porch:
I have a thing for acorns.
-
I also must add how very happy I am... I'm so proud of our country today- there will be so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Huzzah! <Picture me doing the Snoopy dance>
It is a bittersweet victory, though... I'm proud of the US, but disappointed by my love, California. Prop 8, people? Really? I suppose we're made huge strides lately towards erasing bigotry, but it looks like we've got a lot more work to do, and soon.

My knitting neglect.
Ok, I have been knitting... I've got a sweater almost done! I'll post pics when it is.
What I have been doing:

New inventory for Etsy! There's tons of shrinky pieces (my first!) and some other bits and bobs I've been working on. I'm pretty happy with the new stuff... I hope others are...

And gardening! It's harvest time, yo!

Our new garden! We only built it a couple months ago, so I didn't plant a ton of stuff since we we so late, but since we had such a long cool spring everything did really well...

We even have lettuce still! Not for long I bet... It's like 104◦ out today.

Chamomile! I'll have maybe enough for a whole pot of tea this year!

Mini-peppers, squash, and lemon cucumbers are all ready (the melon will take awhile longer), plus chard, beans, and lettuce... Tomatoes in a couple weeks, methinks...

Laika's not sure about the looks of this...

Yaaaaay! A salad entirely from my garden! Yummmmm...

I make this jewelry with silver clay, which is pretty popular in Japan, but not so well known here... It starts out looking and feeling like a small clump of normal ceramic clay, but after you fire it, the organic matter burns out of it, leaving 99.9% pure silver (sterling silver is 92.5% pure). It's softer than sterling, but I haven't had any problems with this. 99.9% silver is referred to as "fine silver". The only downside is the materials cost (the raw clay is like 30 bucks an ounce) and you have to have a way to fire it. You can use a torch, but that's pretty unpredictable and the clay has very specific firing temps and times. I use the Speedfire Cone system. Anyway, on to the pretties:
